Both the operating system have excelled and carved a niche for themselves, but when it comes to the user interface, Mac OS is a sure shot winner. Mac OS is an equally efficient operating system and has its own place. Windows operating system is no doubt the most used operating system. It’s entirely a matter of personal taste, but many users have found that disabling LCD font smoothing makes fonts look better in Yosemite on standard resolution, non-Retina. With LCD font smoothing disabled, the fonts in OS X do look a bit more jagged, but they’re also clearer, losing that “fuzzy” effect found with the option enabled. GDIPP is the easier program, so if you don’t want to deal with font engine tweaks and all that jazz, stick with GDIPP. The core functionality is the same – bringing FreeType’s font smoothing capabilities to Windows – but there are some advanced customization options that we’ll cover soon.
